Dec 14th 2008 no more polaroids

I have decided to discontinue my Polaroid project for various reasons.  I am running low on Polaroids themselves despite my having purchased a large stockpile, and because it gets dark early now I have alot less time to go take the pictures that people ordered so I was making people wait an unfair amount of time and also it just wasn’t fun anymore.  Anyone who has ordered something or sent me something for exchance, I will get to them.  Thanks to everyone who contributed.

BUT I have a new idea that hopefully people will be into.  I want to further integrate mail art with the internet.  A lot of people think that the internet killed the practice of snail mail, but there are still people who practice mail art.  If you don’t know what I am talking about, watch the movie How To Draw A Bunny.  I think that the internet can make mail art even better.  So the new concept for this site is for you to mail me ANYTHING and I will mail you something back and I will post updates of what I send and recieve.  I mean ANYTHING.  If you are having trouble getting an idea for something to send then email me your address and I will send you something.  And then you can post it on your website.  Oh yea, and if you want to send me a Polaroid, I’ll probably reply with one of my own :).

I will be redesigning the layout over the next couple days too.

Nov 24th 2008 Dear guy,

Dear guy, just because I am standing around looking at stuff and I have a 25 year old camera around my neck does not mean that I am a tourist, so I am therefore uninterested in you telling me about nearby filming locations of Kramer vs Kramer.  Or, as you put it, “Kraymah vahses Kraymah”.  Ok?  Please be less creepy next time.

On the left is from Megan and it’s the Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota.  On the right is my reply which is a polaroid that I took earlier this year, but I immediatly thought of it when I saw Megan’s picture so it’s what I sent back to her.

Nov 5th 2008 Aim high. And by “high” I don’t mean warp 9.

I think I should take a break from my attempt to build a collection of Polaroids of the cast members of Star Trek: The Next Generation and set a new goal - a polaroid of Barack Obama.

Oct 29th 2008 a long way

These are from Jan who is from the Netherlands.  They are various views from around Rotterdam and Amsterdam.  I sent him back various views of nyc.  Top left is the Chrysler building, bottom right are the chairs that are in grand central.  The other two are somewhere in the west villiage I think.

Oct 29th 2008 if you say so

Rebekah’s favorite pizza place in Virginia.  I’ve never eaten at this place, but they make some big claims.  Which probably aren’t true.  Well, the “best” part at least.
